About Us
I shaped my first board in 1980. Like so many other shapers, I began making boards for
myself and friends who were willing guinea pigs. I am largely self-taught in the process
of shaping, always focusing on the combination of design elements and aesthetic details
that make a functional state of the art surfboard. I take satisfaction in preserving a dying
tradition, which is hand shaping. Ninety nine percent of all boards are still hand shaped.
The factory is located on the island of Oahu, and we currently make boards for a wide spectrum
of surfers. From some of Pipeline’s most hard charging regulars to lesser known stellar talent and
weekend warriors, I pride myself on shaping your ideal version of the perfect board.
